The Yorkshire Afghan Hounds Society 10th September 2016
I would like to take this opportunity
to thank the club executive and members for the
invitation to judge at the clubs speciality show.
Afghan hounds were the first breed that I
owned, bred and exhibited and started me on
a long involvement in the dog world. To this
day I am still as passionate about the
breed as I was in those early days.
A special thank you to my two stewards,
Liz and John. Who assisted me throughout the day
in
such a professional manner. The venue was exceptional, large rings providing
ample space
for our lovely breed to move and
demonstrate their unique gait and character.
To the exhibitors, thank you for your
sportsmanship towards each other, it enhanced my
enjoyment of the day.
My overall comment on my breed entry is
that I was pleasantly surprised to find consistent
breed hallmarks such as ring tails, strong
bodies and correct shoulders, large feet and light
springy gait, hallmarks that are often lacking
in many countries. It was also very pleasing to
see dogs presented in a natural coat
pattern with many beards, without clipping and scissoring
of
neck and underline.
I was very honoured to have the
opportunity to judge your show.
