YORKSHIRE AFGHAN HOUND SOCIETY 7th JANUARY 2012
I was delighted to be asked to judge the society Open show and was not
disappointed with the quality of the dogs present. There was a friendly atmosphere in the venue
and it was good to hear applause after the placings
of the class, this seems a rarity these days.

Bloor’s PASHTARI THE GAMEKEEPER, liked the way he was
constructed & how he used that on the move. Sound to & fro with good
profile when he got his tail up. RBD

Kidd’s KARANDIKAR SEA OF STARS, super profile mover,
just preferred head on 1
LD 5 (1ab)

Roper/Moore’s ASHAHNI ANIQ AT JULAM, well muscled
quarters, with balance all through, gave me the springy gait when moving in
typical Afghan action. BD

Winters’ ASHAHNI AZZAM WITH TOKANDO JW, litter brother
to winner, I just preferred length of leg of 1st
3.
Vowles’ AZMARI
BLACK DIAMOND

Moore’s CLOUDSIDE BLACK EMPRESS, lovely head on good
length of neck, a well laid shoulder & good elbow placement complemented
rear angles.

yet got her act together when moving in profile

GB 3
1.
Bloor’s PASHTARI LADY CHATTERLEY, she was well
presented with correct coat. A good
depth of chest & straight front legs helped her to win this class.
2.
Howard/Traversari/Greenwood’s
ALTSIDE PARTY FROCK ON ASIAN SKIES, she has a lovely head & expression.
3.
Coombes’ GILARI
DEVIL WOMAN
PGB 2 (1ab)
1.
Coombes’ GILARI
DEVIL WOMAN, I would have liked more body mass for frame.
LB 3 (1ab)
1.
Roper/Moore’s AZMARI BLACK ONYX AT TEMENSHU, moved
beautifully in profile, really showing off the typical Afghan gait.
2.
Vowles’ AZMARI OPAL
MIST, well bodied & presented, her gait was not just as springy as winner.
OB 2
1.
Howard/Traversari/Greenwood’s
CH ALTSIDE BLU FOR YOU UNDER ASIAN SKIES, she presented a balance picture of
beauty & power. Her forequaters were well angulated with a good depth of chest,
good bend of stifle & short hocks enabled her to gait in the action required.
BB & BIS
2.
Metcalfe’s CH CUBANBA NORTHERN STAR JW, another worthy
CH who is well constructed to the rear. She was presented in flowing coat.
