YAHS JUDGING LIST CRITERIA

 

For the purpose of this criteria and subsequent judging lists a non Breed specialist is someone who awards Kennel Club Challenge Certificates in another breed and a Breed specialist is someone who does not award Kennel Club Challenge Certificates in any other Breed.

Each application will be considered on its own merit.

All applications subject to the approval of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society Committee.

CHAMPIONSHIP A1 LIST

For persons who have previously been approved by the Kennel Club to award CCs in the breed, fulfil the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society A3 list criteria and have the support of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society.

CHAMPIONSHIP A2 LIST

For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with the Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on the A2 list and have support of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society.

CHAMPIONSHIP A3 LIST (Breed Specialists)

For persons who fulfil the following criteria and would have the support of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society to judge the breed with Challenge Certificates.

1. To have had 10 active years in the Afghan Hound breed.

2. To have been judging Afghan Hounds over a minimum period of 7 years.

3. To have attended at least one Breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practise and have passed an approved judging examination in accordance with the Afghan Hound Breed Council criteria.

3a.In the case of applicants in the breed before the 1st January 1968, this may be waived at the discretion of the Breed Council, such applicants must have had an Afghan Hound registered with the KC in his/her name prior to 1968)

4. To have judged a minimum of 100 dogs.

5. To have judged 30 classes of Afghan Hounds over a period of three years after passing an approved judging examination organised in accordance with the Breed Council criteria.

6. To have bred and/ or owned a minimum of 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in the KC Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances.) (KC Policy)

7. To have judged at least 50 classes of Afghan Hounds which includes one 10 class Breed Club show or better, but in all at least 8 shows.

8. To have stewarded at 12 shows, .

9. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedure.

10. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.

11. To have fulfilled the B List Criteria.

 

CHAMPIONSHIP A3 LIST (Non Specialists)

For persons who fulfil the following criteria and would have the support of the Yorkshire Afghan Hound Society to judge the Breed with Challenge Certificates.

1. To have judged a minimum of 100 classes of Afghan Hounds at any level under English Kennel Club Rules.

2. To have judged these over a minimum period of 5 years.

3. To have awarded Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed.

4. To have attended an Afghan Hound Breed Club Lecture/Judge In day session on the Afghan Hound.

5. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of 3 dogs of any breed when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book.

6. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedure.

7. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.

8. To have fulfilled the B List Criteria

 

B LIST (Breed Specialists)

Persons who the Club would support to judge an Afghan Hound Breed Club open show or a Championship show without CCs.

1. To have fulfilled the C list criteria.

2. To have judged 30 classes of Afghan Hounds over a period of three years after passing an approved judging examination organised in accordance with the Breed Council criteria.

3. To have stewarded at a minimum of 4 shows.

 

C LIST (Breed Specialists)

Persons who the Club would support to judge the breed without Challenge Certificates.

For aspirant judges who have shown an interest in the breed and have the support of the YAHS

 

B LIST (Non Specialists)

Persons who the Club would support to judge an Afghan Hound Breed Club open show or a Championship show without CCs.

1. To have judged a minimum of 50 classes of Afghan Hounds at any level under English Kennel Club Rules.

2. To have judged these over a minimum period of 4 years.

3. To have attended an Afghan Hound Breed Club Lecture/Judge In day session on the Afghan Hound.

4. To have stewarded at a minimum of 4 shows.

 

C LIST (Non Specialists.)

Persons who the Club would support to judge the Breed without Challenge Certificates
