YORKSHIRE AFGHAN HOUND
SOCIETY
Open Show – 5th
January 2013
My thanks to the Committee for their kind invitation to officiate at this Club Show, and also to the exhibitors for accepting my decisions sportingly
In general I was a little concerned that the typical eye-shape was lacking in some exhibits, most were in good coat and condition.
Minor Puppy Dog (2, 1abs)
1.Raynor/Mellor’s Ashahni Cosmic Fire, 6mths old, balanced head with good pigmentation and eyes, sound front construction, excellent ribbing and good rear angulation, a touch close in the rear on the move. Best Puppy Dog.
Junior Dog (2, 1abs)
1.Thomson’s Pahlevi Columbus, a nice make and shape to this dog, correctly proportioned head with good pigmentation, strong neck with good lay of shoulder, front construction sound, spring of rib could be better, well muscled hind angulation, moved soundly.
Yearling Dog (2)
1.Virgo’s Sumahari Tiger Wudz JW, excellent in profile, masculine well proportioned head with dark eye and typical expression, strong neck and lovely shoulders, correct hind angulation with sufficient length to thigh, moved very well with enough forward reach and rear drive, just thought him a tad on the tall side. Res Best Dog 2.Gardner’s Sumahari Swing Master for Danwish, not happy being handled today, looked good in profile, strong hindquarters, front not as good as 1.
Graduate Dog (1)
1.Thomson’s Pahlevi Columbus
Post Graduate Dog (2)
1.Thomson’s Pahlevi Columbus
2.Bloor’s Pashtari the Gamekeeper, well constructed, good head shape with good pigmentation, presented a good outline standing and on the move, front construction is good, moved well if a little lazy.
Open Dog (5, 3abs)
1.Vowles’ Azmari Black Diamond, nice make & shape, masculine well proportioned head with strong jaws, would like better eyes, good length to neck, correct topline with enough fallaway, sufficient ribbing, strong well muscled thighs. Moved well. Best Dog & BOS
2.Drage’s Sarakhan Sirocco JW, one to admire, lazy on the move today, he has quality and type with correct masculine head.
Puppy Bitch (5, 1abs)
A mixed class for type
1.Thompson’s Gezancol Smoke and Mirrors at Gothika, has promise, all round make and shape is good, feminine head with good expression, stands over enough ground, good shoulders, hindquarters and correct topline. Needs time to mature and steady down. BPIS.
2.Middleton’s Davashey and Proud of It, pleasing head shape with lovely feminine expression, good length to neck, nice ribbing, maybe a touch tall at the moment which make her look unbalanced.
3.Middleton’s Kasban Champagne Dreams at Davashey
Junior Bitch (5)
1.Lancashire’s Javidan You’re All I Need Drishaun, not the finished article yet, a little rough & ready in the coat department but what a mover, showed a lovely balanced profile, lovely head and strong neck, front and rear construction were both good, excellent movement showing reach and drive. RBIS & Res Best Bitch
2.Sanghera’s Sitana Joshila JW, not the balanced outline of 1, good for front and rear construction, head could be finer, moves steadily.
3.Glover’s Khatira Briseis at Mickcals
Yearling Bitch (4)
1.Smith/Wisniewski’s Bondor Chaka Khanum, one I have judged before, well proportioned head with good pigmentation, strong neck, good front and hindquarters, well muscled throughout with good depth of brisket and enough ribbing. Steady on the move.
2. Glover’s Khatira
Briseis at Mickcals
3.Barber/Henry’s Gezancol
As If By Magic to Normarand
Novice Bitch (2)
1.Middleton’s Davashey and Proud of It
2.Middleton’s Kasban Champagne Dreams at Davashey
Post Graduate Bitch (3, 1abs)
1.Allen/Medlam’s Krishan Hatty and Me for Sazau, correctly proportioned throughout, balanced head with good pigmentation, well muscled neck with good shoulders and front construction, super ribbing with tight in elbows, moved well.
2.Raynor/Mellor’s Jahadi Nadine, let down by profile showing poor topline, good angles both front and rear, not confident on the move.
Open Bitch (1)
1.Vowles’ Azmari Opal Mist, fawn/cream, bitch of good make & shape with typical reserved temperament, well developed ribs, good shoulders and front, well angulated hindquarters, good length to thighs, moved with purpose and with good tail carriage. Best Bitch & BIS
